Feeling comfortable in our skin is important, but striking a healthy balance between a healthy weight and unhealthy weight is also important. While we never want to beat ourselves up regarding our bodies we also shouldn’t cater to unhealthy eating habits or lifestyles.

Regarding this balance, we asked a certified doctor to share his healthy eating habit suggestions. He believes in the philosophy that everything should be done in moderation. His creation of a program was intended to assist in educating people and helping them discover the correct way to lose weight. Besides lifestyle and diet counseling, the program also includes clinically-tested weight-loss medications in addition to customized weight-loss treatments.

Q: Is it important to consume more protein than carbohydrates?

A:

In general, it is true that Singaporeans should remember that all things must be taken in moderation. Carbohydrates are high in sugars and starches. As the body’s main source of energy, it is critical for proper functioning of the organs. However, when consumed in excess, carbohydrates are converted into fat and can increase your risk of heart disease and diabetes. In contrast, protein is essential for muscle development. A toned body not only looks better but it also increases the body’s metabolic rate and increases the rate at which calories are burned, and decreases fats in the body, even when its resting. In other words, muscles keep the body lean and increase energy. Consuming more lean protein and reducing carbohydrates definitely encourages weight loss.

Q: Is it a good idea to consume small meals frequently rather than three meals at set times each day?

A:

Yes. Multiple meals throughout the day reduce spikes and drops in blood sugar levels. Sugar spikes force the body to convert fat for storage. Consuming smaller meals can also reduce the total caloric intake and curbs overeating.

Q: What’s the best way to maintain proper weight?

Whatever you do, don’t skip meals. Eat your food slowly and always maintain proper moderation. Additionally, adequate exercise enables the body to burn up calories. Cryolipolysis is also a good idea. It is a cooling treatment that freezes fat cells and causes them to die. The body then automatically cleans up these cells. It’s a natural way to remove fat cells over time and promotes fat loss.
